44,000 Americans Die Every Year Due To Lack Of Health Insurance

Finally the health care reform debate is focused where it should be: The health of the American people. Or more accurately, the lack of health of the American people. Every year 44,000 Americans die due to lack of health insurance. Something that is unheard of in every other western country is commonplace here. How is that acceptable? How is the “health care plan” of the Republicans (“let them die”) acceptable?

Why is the health care reform debate focused back where it should be? Due to the heroics of Rep. Alan Grayson who called out the Republicans on their lack of a health care plan (which essentially says they are OK with 44,000 Americans dying every year) and who highlighted the fact that more than 10 times as many people die from lack of health insurance every year as died on 9/11 or the Iraq War.

Not only did Rep. Grayson bring this truth to the House, but he has refused to back down to whining Republicans who are scared that maybe the Democrats might start to do what we elected them to do: Bring real change to America. We certainly did not elect President Obama by nearly 10 million votes so that the Democratic party would take direction from the Republicans who have destroyed this country over the last 8 years. We not only elected Obama, but the Democrats also have large majorities in the Senate & the House. Why don’t they start acting like it?

Donate to Alan Grayson for bringing the truth to the House.

Now for something really inspiring, watch Rep. Grayson go one on four on CNN’s The Situation Room and watch him not back down for even one second. Comparing him to Joe Wilson is ridiculous! There’s a huge difference between what Grayson has said and what Joe Wilson said. What Grayson said is the truth, and the truth matters! Especially when that truth is that one party (the Republicans with the help from some so called “Blue Dog Democrats”) is doing everything they can to make sure that 44,000 people continue to die every year due to lack of health insurance.
