Biden Easily Defeats Palin In VP Debate

Last night’s VP debate made clear the huge gulf in experience and qualifications between Barack Obama’s choice for VP (Joe Biden) and John McCain’s choice (Sarah Palin.)

While Biden gave clear detailed answers to all of the debate moderator’s questions, Palin gave nonsensical rambling non-answers over and over again. She repeated her senseless talking points like a windup doll or a poorly programmed robot. It was pathetic.

What little content that could be found in Palin’s answers showed her to be painfully out of touch with reality. She defended the Bush/Cheney administration. In specific she defended Dick Cheney’s abuse of power as VP. And most importantly she couldn’t name any real differences between what a McCain/Palin administration would be like over the next four years and what the Bush/Cheney administration has been like over the last eight years.

While the GOP spinsters and even much of the mainstream media has tried to grade Sarah Palin on some kind of curve ( “she exceeded expectations” ) that’s only evidence of just how extremely low expectations were for her. She was simply awful by any reasonable standard. She is clearly unqualified to be the President of the United States ( and that’s the standard by which a VP should be judged ) and thus John McCain’s judgment must be called into serious question due to his reckless politically motivated choice of her as his VP.

On the other hand Joe Biden also “exceeded expectations” and considering he’s considered by many to be one of the top debaters around that’s saying a lot. Biden gave a great performance and left absolutely no reasonable doubt that he could step in and be an excellent President at a moment’s notice. He made the case very well that Barack Obama is the real change that America needs and that John McCain offers no real changes from George W. Bush and that McCain is, in fact, not a maverick on any important issues facing America.
