Chris Dodd On The Possibility Of A Prolonged Democratic Race
By ThePresidentialCandidates.US on Mar 27, 2008 in Chris Dodd
This CNN story adds Chris Dodd to the chorus of Democrats who want this race over sooner rather than later.
Is Hillary Clinton being selfish by continuing her campaign when she has almost no chance of passing Barack Obama in pledged delegates? Doesn’t she care about her party and more importantly, her country? If their roles are reversed, it is a sure thing that there would be immense pressure on Obama to drop out and now finally that pressure is beginning to be applied to Clinton.
What the Democrats need is for the remaining Democratic big names (Al Gore & John Edwards for example) and superdelegates to come out in favor of Obama. That may be the only way to shut down the Clinton campaign once and for all, otherwise she may just take this battle all the way to the convention in August which would likely be a disaster for the Democrats.
