Clinton Wins Puerto Rico Weakly

Clinton was hoping for a huge turnout in Puerto Rico to help her ludicrous “popular vote” argument (which is absolutely bogus in every way) but with 72% precincts reporting in Puerto Rico it looks as if Clinton will be lucky to pick up 100K votes in the imaginary popular vote contest. The turn out has been much lower than expected.

When you consider that Puerto Rico goes against every argument Clinton normally makes (“winning the big states that matter in November” etc) it makes the win even more meaningless in context (she won in a place that doesn’t even vote in November!)

There are now only 2 contests remaining: Montana & South Dakota on Tuesday.

Obama will clearly end the Democratic nomination process with more pledged delegates, more superdelegates, more overall delegates and more popular votes (although that shouldn’t matter because it’s a bogus metric to use, but nonetheless – he will lead in popular votes as well.)
