“Country First” Or Political Ambition?

The GOP has been running with the “Country First” theme at their convention this week while derisively mocking Barack Obama with many nasty personal attacks in Rovian style. They have tried to paint Obama has someone with questionable patriotism who is running for President out of his own self interest and not the best interests of America. Sleazeball politics, no doubt. Bush/Cheney politics, no doubt. More of the same, no doubt.

These low ball attacks lead me to this: Which candidate has actually admitted in their own words to running for the Presidency purely out of political ambition? John McCain.
