David Letterman Asks John McCain About “Palling Around” With G. Gordon Liddy

Tonight David Letterman exposed John McCain’s disgusting “guilt by association” attacks on Barack Obama for his association with William Ayers as being completely hypocritical.

He did that by doing something that mainstream news media hasn’t done for some reason; He brought up John McCain’s close association with Watergate criminal G. Gordon Liddy.

McCain’s excuse for Liddy? He went to prison and paid his debt. Letterman brought up the point: So did William Ayers!

Game, Set, Match.

John McCain is running a pathetic dishonest hypocritical campaign and he should be ashamed of himself.

Barack Obama, on the other hand, is running a campaign based largely on the issues. Sure, Obama runs negative ads too. But Obama’s negative ads are substantive. They are based on McCain being exactly the same as George W. Bush on the issues. They are based on McCain giving billions in tax cuts to the extremely rich while largely leaving out the middle class. They are based on McCain’s horrible health care proposal that would likely leave 20 million MORE Americans without health care.

Negative ads based on the issues are one thing. Negative ads based on dishonest hypocritical guilt by association attacks are another thing entirely.

    *blink blink*

William Ayers didn’t go to prison. (And at least from the Youtube clips, I don’t see Dave saying that.)

  3. Wait…So someone can be redeemed only by going to prison, and not by never being convicted in the first place? So people who have never been convicted of a crime are more guilty (Or produce more guilt-by-association) than people who were convicted?

  4. Is that a response to my post, Matt? I’m not saying that Ayers is more guilty or less guilty than Liddy, I’m not saying that he’s been redeemed or not redeemed, indeed, I think the whole thing is silly.

What I *am* saying is that William Ayers did not go to prison as the blog author appears to be implying Dave said. (And like I said — I don’t see where Dave Letterman said this anyway.)

  6. Obama’s entire campaign is based upon complete deception based upon radicalism. His radical views of CHANGE are counter to capitolism that helped build and maintain our nations economy.
