Desperate Right Wingers Throwing The Kitchen Sink At President Obama

The National Review:

Yes, somehow the National Review is somehow simultaneously claiming that Barack Obama is a “socialist” and also “in bed with big business.” I think that tells you everything you need to know about how baseless the right wing smears on the President are. They should be roundly ignored.
Amazingly the right wingers are trying to make a big deal out of the fact that Obama uses a teleprompter for his speeches as if this is a new thing. It’s well known that every modern President has used a teleprompter for speeches (including their favorite hero Ronald Reagan. And certainly Sarah Palin relied on her teleprompter just as heavily as Obama does.)
Not that reading speeches in this way is a new thing: FDR’s fireside chats in the 1930s? He read those. No they had no teleprompters back then, he just read those speeches off a piece of paper the old fashioned way! But regardless of the technology, there’s nothing unusual about reading your speeches.
Making a big deal over Obama’s use of a teleprompter is exceedingly childish. It’s a diversionary tactic to keep people from thinking about the real issues and the real facts.
It’s the content of Obama’s speeches that really matters.
