Dwight D. Eisenhower – Republican.
Eisenhower’s nickname was “Ike.”
He was the 34th president in the history of the United States. He served from 1953 to 1961.
He was elected in 1952 in a victory over the Democratic nominee, Adlai Stevenson. His re-election in 1956 was also over Stevenson. Neither election was close as Eisenhower won the popular vote both times by a margin of over 10% points and the electoral college vote by a greater margin.
