Franklin D. Rooselvelt (FDR) – Democrat.
Roosevelt was the 32nd US president. He was the first (and only) president to win (and serve) more than 2 terms. Roosevelt won election in 1932, 1936, 1940, & 1944. He died in office in 1945 during his 4th term as President.
Prior to Roosevelt, Presidents traditionally left office after 2 terms but it was not law that they do so. The 2 term limit on the presidency became law when 22nd amendment to the constitution was ratified by the required amount of states in 1951.
