Ford was the 38th US President. He served from 1974 to 1977.
He became the 5th President to become president without having been elected as president and he became the very first president to have not even been elected as Vice President.
He became president after being appointed as Richard Nixon’s vice president in 1973.
Ford ran for President (to continue serving as President) against Jimmy Carter in 1976 and lost.
