John McCain Calls People Who Make Less Than $80,000 A Year Stupid

John McCain’s ads continue to say that Barack Obama will raise taxes while he (McCain) will cut taxes but the facts are that for all tax brackets except for the very rich, Obama will cut more taxes than McCain.

McCain continues to repeat this falsehood because he apparently thinks the middle class is too stupid to know any better. On August 8, 2008 he said (to a room full of rich people) “People who make under $80,000 are too stupid to understand taxes anyway.”

This quote should be all over the MSM. It’s far more offensive than anything Barack Obama has ever said, particularly because he’s using this “stupidity” as a reason to outright lie to voters about his tax plan.

Most Americans (90%) will have lower taxes with Barack Obama than they will with John McCain. If you earn less than $111,645 a year you will have lower taxes with Barack Obama’s plan than you will with John McCain’s.
