John McCain: “We Are Winning” (In Iraq)
By ThePresidentialCandidates.US on May 27, 2008 in John McCain
Watch John McCain respond to hecklers by saying that he will “never surrender to Iraq” (i.e. he wants the war in Iraq to continue forever.)
He also states “We are winning.” Whatever “winning” means when it comes to Iraq? Does winning mean that more soldiers are dying? That our economy is in the shambles largely because of the war in Iraq? That we are less safe because of the war in Iraq? The facts belie the message of “winning.” It’s clear that the war in Iraq has been a huge loser for our country.
McCain’s words on Iraq are remarkably similar to George W. Bush’s. This is another great example of how McCain largely represents a 3rd term for George W. Bush.
