Latest Poll Shows Mitt Romney & Mike Huckabee In Dead Heat In Iowa
By ThePresidentialCandidates.US on Dec 31, 2007 in Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney
The latest Reuters/C-Span/Zogby daily tracking poll in Iowa shows that Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney are in a statistical dead head for the Iowa lead on the Republican side. Huckabee is polling at 29% and Romney at 27%. John McCain is in third at 13% while Ron Paul, Rudy Giuliani, and Fred Thompson are tied for 4th place with about 8% each.
While the reported margin of error is +/- 3.3% that doesn’t take into account that many of Ron Paul’s supporters are first time voters or former Democrats and Independents who are not included in such polls. It’s likely that Ron Paul is actually running ahead of John McCain for 3rd which could be extremely important as it’s also likely much of the country will be rejecting Romney & Huckabee no matter who comes out on top in Iowa.
Huckabee’s religious pandering puts a bad taste in most people’s mouths and Mitt Romney comes across as extremely phony to many, as someone who will say anything to get elected but doesn’t really have any strong beliefs of his own.
The Iowa caucus is Thursday.
It will be very interesting to see how the actual results compare with these polling numbers.
