Mitt Romney in 2002: “My Views Are Progressive”

This 2002 video of Mitt Romney claiming he has progressive views will probably not help him in his battle with Newt Gingrich for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination:
Consider that Glenn Beck and his ilk have taught the far right wing Tea Party base of the Republican Party that “Progressive” is basically the same thing as “Communist” (never-mind that this is, obviously, absolutely crazy) and then consider what they will think about Mitt Romney saying he has progressive views.
He might as well have said that he prefers Karl Marx over Ronald Reagan.
Of course it doesn’t help that Romney is also actually on record as saying he wasn’t so fond of the Reagan presidency:
