Nigeria Oil Rebels Mulling Obama Truce Appeal

Read this Reuters story. While McCain & Clinton talk about the Gas Tax Holiday pandering scam, Obama is working on truce deals that may have a real effect on lowering the cost of gasoline.

The positive effect of having a true diplomat as president is hard to calculate. Certainly after 8 years of diplomatic failure (that actually may be too kind a word, to fail you have to try, and the Bush admin. doesn’t even try diplomacy) it will be a welcome change to have a real diplomatic presence like Barack Obama in the White House.

Think about it. Even as just a candidate for president, Obama already appears to have more real international influence than Bush does as an active president!

It’s exciting to think about what this country can accomplish with intelligent, thoughtful leadership.
