Obama Back Up?

There’s been a lot of talk about John McCain’s boost in the polls since the Republican convention ended and it’s true that McCain’s numbers appear to have gone up across the board but has that “convention bounce” already hit it’s peak? Has it already started to recede?

According to the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll it has. That poll has Barack Obama ahead of John McCain 46% to 45%.

That’s a statistical dead heat which is actually just how all of the other polls except for Gallup (which has McCain up by 5%) have the race. If a dead heat is the best McCain can get out of the Palin bump and the convention bounce then Obama is actually in very good position.

As the deceptive and wildly misleading informercial that was the GOP convention fades from memory, certainly more people will realize that Sarah Palin actually has a history of corruption and that the story they were sold about her at the GOP convention is nothing but a lie.

Certainly more people will realize that John McCain is the furthest thing from “change” possible. McCain/Palin are absolutely running for a 3rd Bush term on the issues. There’s not a single major issue where McCain/Palin disagree with Bush/Cheney.
