Obama Hits McCain Hard On “Change”
By ThePresidentialCandidates.US on Sep 9, 2008 in Barack Obama
Ludicrously John McCain is now trying to pass himself off as an agent of change despite the fact that he has essentially the same position as George W. Bush on every single issue.
This is what Obama has to say about McCain’s so called “change”
“Let’s just list this for a second. John McCain says he’s about change, too. Except — and so I guess his whole angle is, “Watch out, George Bush, except for economic policy, health-care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy, and Karl Rove-style politics. We’re really gonna shake things up in Washington.” That’s not change. That’s just calling some — the same thing, something different. But you know, you can — you know, you can put lipstick on a pig; it’s still a pig.”
Hear It For Yourself:
Pathetically the McCain campaign tried to hypocritically play the “gender card” AGAIN by bringing up Palin in response to this even though it’s obvious that Obama’s comments were about McCain’s positions being the exact same as George W. Bush’s and not to do with McCain’s VP choice.
They’re trying to twist Obama’s words to somehow mean that he was calling Sarah Palin a “pig.” How they can possibly say that when Obama didn’t even mention Palin and when the phrase “lipstick on a pig” is a very old phrase that is not in any way gender specific I find that to be absolutely insane. McCain himself used the same phrase when describing Hillary Clinton’s health care plan (which shows how out of touch McCain is with real Americans serious health care problems.)
Doesn’t that sum up why McCain chose Palin? As an excuse to talk about anything but the issues. On the issues that really matter to Americans, McCain has the exact same positions as George W. Bush for him to pretend like he’s a “change” is a flat out lie.
