Obama On McCain’s Confusion On Iran

John McCain claims to be a foreign policy expert yet he was 100% wrong on Iraq. Maybe he was wrong on Iraq because he really just isn’t that knowledgeable about the middle east?

Yesterday McCain repeatedly said that Iran is supplying al Qaeda. This is not true. Iran is a Shiite country and would never aid the Sunni dominated Al-Qaeda. To add insult to injury, McCain did not correct himself until his pal Joe Lieberman whispered in his ear. He then said “I’m sorry the Iranians are training extremists, not al Qaeda. I am sorry.”

Does McCain even know what’s going on in the middle east? For someone who is staking his whole candidacy on foreign policy this raises a lot of questions.

Today Barack Obama said “Just yesterday, we heard Sen. McCain confuse Sunni and Shiite, Iran and Al Qaeda, Maybe that is why he voted to go to war with a country that had no Al Qaeda ties. Maybe that is why he completely fails to understand that the war in Iraq has done more to embolden America’s enemies than any strategic choice that we have made in decades.”

A John McCain presidency means more of the same bumbling idiocy that the Bush administration brought us since 2001. These warmongers don’t even know who they are fighting against. Their only solution to any problem is to drop more bombs.
