Obama: Wrong On Marijuana Legalization
By ThePresidentialCandidates.US on Mar 26, 2009 in Barack Obama
We strongly support President Obama and what he trying to do as far as health care, the environment, education, and the economy but we must call him out when he is wrong and he is certainly wrong in his stance against legalizing marijuana to help the economy.
During today’s “internet forum” he gave an arrogant and quite frankly stupid answer in response to the most popular question submitted which was a question regarding legalizing marijuana not only because it’s the right thing to do for civil liberties reasons but because it would help to improve the economy.
What’s more disturbing is not only that he’s wrong on the issue but that he didn’t respond to the question in an intelligent thoughtful manner. In fact, as much as it pains me to write it, I believe he answered this question in a very George W. Bush “I’m the decider” sort of way. That shouldn’t be how the President of a democracy responds to the citizens of his country.
Shame on you President Obama! You have put down a lot of the people who have most strongly supported you.
Obama on the legalization of marijuana:
Among those that believe that legalizing marijuana will improve the economy (along with lowering crime rates and many other positives) is Harvard Professor Jeffrey Miron:

Legalizing marijuana will improve the economy. During the Great Depression, prohibition was lifted and the Depression ended. People would have jobs on assembly lines taking out seeds and stems. GM would produce delivery trucks and get out of their funk. The food industry would boost because people have the munchies. We should put on age limits just like we do with ciggarettes and alcohol. They both kill and cause cancer just like marijuana.
