Our Health Care System Is Totally Screwed Up

Our health care system is totally screwed up and the Democratic party isn’t doing enough to shine light on just how bad it is.

While the Republicans/health insurance companies are running “scare” ads of how bad “government health care” might be there’s a much more convincing argument that could be made by proponents of the public option: Our current system is screwed up in a major way.

The sad thing is that most people with health insurance actually think they are “safe” - It’s not until they actually need their health insurance (which is the whole point of insurance right?) that they realize they are screwed. Health insurance companies regularly drop people when they most need their coverage to increase profits. Just read that last sentence again and think about it for awhile.

There are many horror stories that can be told of people who had health insurance but when they needed it most the health insurance companies took away their coverage.

And what about the problem with those that have “pre-existing conditions” not being able to get coverage? The arguments against our current system are overwhelmingly strong. They just need to be made. It’s time to play hardball against the health insurance companies.
