Post Convention: McCain +1

According to the Rasmussen poll released today John McCain is now up by 1% point over Barack Obama (48% to 47%.) This is the first tracking poll released which covers only post convention polling (Friday through Sunday.)

While the Republicans have to be pretty happy with the bounce they’ve got from their convention, I think likewise the Democrats have to be happy it’s still basically tied after three days of GOP infomercials.

As more people learn that everything they heard at the Republican convention was a lie and more about Sarah Palin’s extremist views (along with her disturbing past) and more about how John McCain’s policies will be almost exactly like George W. Bush’s policies (he has voted with Bush 100% of the time in 2008) I think that their bounce will dissipate. The lies of their convention will not hold up over time.

This is a change election and for as much as McCain, his Bush campaign team, and his army of lobbyists want to pretend like they are a change as well, in the end it’s obvious that Barack Obama is the real change candidate in this election. It comes down to this: More of the same (McCain) vs. A new positive direction (Obama.)
