President-Elect Obama At 66% Approval
By ThePresidentialCandidates.US on Dec 5, 2008 in Barack Obama
So far most Americans seem to be impressed with how President-elect Obama is handling things. It’s now been a full month since he was elected (and it’s still over six weeks until he actually takes office) and his Rasmussen approval rating is now sitting at 66%.
Perhaps most impressive is how strong disapproval (certainly coming from McCain/Palin supporters) has dissipated over the last month. On November 6th strong disapproval of Obama sat at 32% and on December 5th it was at just 15%. He’s clearly showing himself to be not nearly as “scary” as the McCain/Palin campaign tried to make him seem.
An incumbent President’s approval ratings is probably the single biggest indicator to their chances at reelection so of course Obama’s approval rating will be something we’ll be watching closely when the 2012 election draws closer.

it’s too early to predict something ..time would say how he will handle the crisis

It is interesting that the ratings are shifting significantly before Obama has even taken office. It seems that he is playing a more prominent role than is typical for a President-elect at this stage, and that his actions are more closely watched. It’s hard to know whether that’s because of the attention surrounding his election or because of the dismal state of affairs in the U.S. at the moment.

The incumbent president will probably go down as one of the worst in history.

Winning the presidential election was one of the greatest moments for Barack Obama coming from a status of Nobama.
However the chair will test him completely. No looking back or forward. At that time disapproval is not the key. Performance is. For him it will be a role hard to play as he comes from the black community. Every action and every gesture will be compared to another set of Presidents. In his case he will be on one side and all former Presidents on the other.
But.. for the composure that he commands it could be his biggest strength.
