President Obama Remains Popular: 65% Approval Rating
By ThePresidentialCandidates.US on May 20, 2009 in Barack Obama
Today’s Gallup approval rating for President Obama is 65%.
Remember when the right wingers were trying to spread the idea that Obama is losing popularity? Are they still up to that one? I guess these days they are mostly talking about Nancy Pelosi.
Speaking of Nancy Pelosi, isn’t it interesting that to them hearing about torture is worse than actually putting a policy of torture in place? It’s remarkable how they think that Nancy Pelosi having heard about torture is some huge scandal yet they don’t seem to have any problem with the Bush admin’s role in devising this policy of torture.
The mental gymnastics that enables right wingers to pull that off is truly impressive.
Oh yeah, and the other thing they are talking about is how scary it is for terrorists to be in regular US prisons. The same place we put serial killers and other such disturbing people. If it’s good enough for a serial killer and if it was good enough for a home grown terrorist like Timothy McVeigh, then why isn’t it good enough for these terrorists?
Is There Anything The Right Isn’t Afraid Of?

I think another reason why Obama’s approval rating is still high is because since his oath into his office, he constantly ensures that all Americans are kept up to date with what he’s doing to help us in our economic hardships. Between the televised speeches, frequent emails and other media, he’s doing a good job with keeping us informed.

You have to laugh at those numbers. Why not print the Zogby numbers that have him at 49%. The reason for the difference…”Fair” is considered positive in the other two and not Zogby. After all, President’s don’t win with fair approval ratings. It’s a joke. The media is doing all they can to pump this guy up. You know, Hitler had great approval numbers until they found out about all the people killed after the war. This man is a socialist and even Russia is shocked at how fast socialism is sweeping the US. Popular, doubt it. But they will continue to use lopsided Democrat to Republican responses and continue to show fair as approval to make sure he seems popular.
His policies are a mess…they’ve created even a bigger mess. And every time one of our people go overseas to make a deal…no one wants to deal with him. The world leaders think he’s a joke. They have more insight than we do.

1. Zogby doesn’t do daily approval ratings.
2. I use Gallup because they are the standard for approval ratings, they have been for many years. I want to use numbers I can compare with previous Presidents – as it’s really the comparison that is of some value more than the number in isolation.
3. Zogby often gets very strange results in his polling. That poll you are referencing was a “one off” which used questionable methods.
4. I could use the Research 2000/Daily Kos poll if I really wanted to fluff up Obama’s ratings as his approval has been at about 70% on that one. But like I said, I think it’s important to use a poll which has a history to it.

As far your comments re: Hitler. YOU LOSE. Stop it with the Hitler comparisons, it’s absolute insanity. You just look like a nut. Obama is a “socialist” ??? Are you kidding me? Obama has been a very pragmatic / centrist President so far. That’s actually a concern for me as I am a liberal (and yes this blog has a “liberal bias” but I like to think of it as a “reality bias”) and I am concerned that Obama is not moving the country far enough left.
My point is: It’s all perspective. And I believe yours is seriously skewed.
