Real Stories Of Our Failed Health Care System

Health care reform is essential and health care reform is only true reform if it includes the “public option.”

You hear a lot of horror stories about the potential short comings of “socialized medicine” from right wingers who are trying to kill health care reform so their only true constituents (that’s big business of course, and in this particular case the health insurance companies) can continue to make a killing while the rest of us are dying from poor health care. And that’s something to think about: Health insurance companies make more money when we die than when we are kept alive. Think about that profit motive for a little while. Does the “free market” work in such a scenario?

The truth is we already have horror stories with the way things are now. That’s what the totally out of touch people on the right don’t seem to understand. They are in denial of just how awful our current health care system is. Not only do we pay far more per person on health care than any other country, we also get far worse results than many of those countries.

Read real stories from real people who have experienced the failures of our health care system firsthand. The sad thing is many people don’t realize just how bad the health care problem is in America until they actually experience a serious injury or get seriously sick. That’s when they find out that their health insurance companies are not on their side. That’s when they find out the health insurance companies will do anything they can to not actually cover their health care costs.
