Republicans = Anti Americans

It’s become clear since President Obama has taken office that the Republican party is not about patriotism at all. In fact Republican politicians and the right wing media that spreads their propaganda for them has no allegiance to anything except for their fascist party and it’s corporate overlords.

Their evil cackling glee over the the US losing our Olympics bid has made their Anti-Americanism more obvious than ever before.

How unbelievable is it that after years of calling liberals “Anti-American” for not supporting the unjust war in Iraq that the Republicans/right wing media celebrate anything negative that happens to America so they can gloat about it as a “failure” for President Obama?

At this point, I’m wondering what the right wingers wouldn’t celebrate? If the stock market were to drop 2000 points in a day would they be setting off fireworks? And haven’t you noticed that the right wing media never brings up the fact that the stock market has gone up about 3000 points since it’s low point in March?

And to take it one step further: What if there were another terrorist attack? Remember the way the country rallied together after 9/11 even though much of the country despised the President? Would the right wingers do that today? Or would they be out celebrating their fellow Americans deaths because they see it as an opportunity to point the finger of blame at the President?

In actuality, this is what the Republican party is doing right now by doing everything they can to stop health care reform just to win a political battle. They are dancing on the graves of our fellow Americans. It’s obvious that the Republicans/right wing media (and they are one in the same) do not care about the 44,000 people that die every year due to lack of health insurance in the United States.

Every day that the Republicans stand in the way of real health care reform approximately 120 Americans die due to lack of health insurance.

And they celebrate. They look at a defeat of health care reform not as a huge blow to the economy (our economy cannot withstand the continued growth of health care costs at their current rate) or as a death sentence for thousands of Americans but instead as a political victory. They simply do not care about this country or it’s people.

It’s time we leave these knuckle dragging Anti-American neanderthals behind. It’s time for the Democratic party to step forward and bring America the change that they voted for in November of 2008.

I don’t recall hearing anything about “bipartisanship” when the Republicans were in power. And I don’t recall hearing much about 60 votes either. The Bush admin seemed to need just 50 votes to push their crap through, and regardless, the Democrats were too afraid to stand up to them anyway.

How is it with 60 Democrats in the Senate, and a nearly 60% majority in the House and with the President having won his election by nearly 10 million votes that we’re still being held captive by the party that has done everything they can to destroy this country while they were in power and now that they are out of power celebrates every failure of our country as a political victory so they can regain it.

I’m fed up with it. It’s time to stop pretending like Republican party deserves any respect. It’s time for the Democratic party to follow the lead of Alan Grayson (donate money to him to show your support) and simply get things done.

AMERICANS DON’T CARE ABOUT BIPARTISANSHIP.

We care about results. The whole concept of “bipartisanship” is ridiculous when the Republican party has shown time and time again they simply do not care about this country.

  1. Brilliantly said. I’ve been thinking this for months now. “Bipartisanship” is also an excuse that corporatist Dems are using to weaken or stop a bill altogether. We need representatives that actually do their jobs and listen to their constituents.

  2. I agree, at this point the Republican Party does not command any respect as they are catering to the same brain-washed/dead people as democrats do. The only way to restore GOP would be to start supporting Sarah Palin, who is one courageous and smart lady. I love the fact that both parties are so much afraid of her.

  3. Leon – I think you take the award for the dumbest comment of the year. Sarah Palin is a great example of the problem with the Republican party. She’s a know nothing and proud of it.

    We’re only going to move this country forward in a positive direction with knowledge and intelligence.
