Sarah Palin Is…

1. The most unqualified person on a major party ticket in the history of the United States. Just 2 years ago she was a major of a town of less than 10,000 people. She’s been Governor of a state with fewer than 700,000 people (Alaska) for only 18 months. She has absolutely no foreign quality experience. She completely destroys the McCain campaign’s main talking points of “experience” and “ready to lead.” Sarah Palin is clearly not ready to be Commander In Chief.

2. The most transparent & calculating VP pick in US Presidential history. This shows a huge lack of judgment by John McCain. It shows that he’s more concerned with trying to win this election than with actually governing if he does win the Presidency. Palin fails the #1 criteria of any VP. Is he (or she) ready to be President? Palin clearly is not ready, not even close.

The obvious political nature of this choice (trying to win over Hillary voters with a female VP even if she’s the complete opposite of Clinton on all issues) may end up putting off more Hillary voters than it attracts. Hillary voters with brains will say “Are you kidding me? Do you really think I’m that stupid?”

3. Arguably the most unknown VP pick in major party history. How many Americans have any idea who Sarah Palin is? They only have 2 months to get to know her before deciding she’s capable of being Commander In Chief. The McCain/Palin ticket is now the “risky” choice.

4. Currently involved in a corruption scandal in Alaska.

5. 44 years old. 3 years younger than Barack Obama. 28 years younger than John McCain. She looks more like McCain’s daughter than his running mate.

6. An admitted smoker of marijuana (when she was younger.) While this is of course not a big deal to me or with anyone else with any sense, it could be an interesting issue for the Republicans who as far as I know have never had a candidate (as President or VP) who has admitted to drug use before.

7. Anti-Choice, Anti-Gay, Anti everything Hillary Clinton stands for.
