Should We Just Assume Gay Bashing Republicans Are In The Closet?

The latest in a long line of right wingers to come out of the closet is Ken Mehlman who was the campaign manager for George W. Bush’s 2004 reelection campaign and a former head of the RNC.

What’s most disheartening about this particular out of the closet Republican is that he was the architect of a campaign that so purposefully used people’s homophobia to drive turnout in 2004. They got anti gay marriage initiatives on the ballot in states all across the country to help get the haters (who vote Republican, of course) out to the polls.

I’d say it’s safe to assume that any gay bashing Republican is actually a homosexual himself. Their self hatred is truly sick and I wish they would keep it to themselves.
