Single Payer Health Care: What We Really Need
By ThePresidentialCandidates.US on Mar 8, 2009 in Uncategorized
The real solution to the health care crisis facing the United States is single payer health care. That means true universal health care done the European way. No health insurance companies should be involved. In fact, health insurance companies shouldn’t even exist.
The MSM isn’t saying much about single payer. Why not? Because of the billions of dollars being made by the health insurance industry.
Also to right wingers who keep using the tired line about “Government getting between a patient and his doctor.” Right now it’s the insurance companies getting between a patient and their doctor. And the insurance companies make their decisions not based on what a patient needs but based on how much money they can make. In fact insurance companies make more money by denying care.
Our system is broken. Capitalism just doesn’t work when it comes to health care, that’s obvious. Quality health care should be a right for all people in a truly civilized advanced society. It’s time for the United States of America to step into the 21st century. Socialism? You bet your ass. Socialism can be a very good thing.
Look at how much more effective the health care systems of European countries are in comparison with our system. They are able to cover all of their people with high quality health care and they actually spend less money to do it!

Agreed. I’m glad you’ll be posting occasionally even though it’s not election season.

I agree that a change must take place. I’m not a big fan of the single-payer system.
As an example…in Europe, they pay MORE, not less for their healthcare. The systems are propped up by other taxes, not directly related to healthcare.
And I might add…I get a call every month from someone in Canada or another country asking about receiving healthcare over her in the US. They’ll gladly pay for their procedure instead of being put on 1 120-day waiting list.
The answer is simple. Increased utilization of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and tax-incentives. It WILL work.
