According to this CBS News poll 91% of Americans approve of the proposals in President Obama’s State of the Union address. You can watch the entire State of the Union address here. The big problem is it is very unlikely that there will be any significant movement on those proposals because the Republican controlled House [...]

David Axelrod, Obama campaign strategist, talking with CBS News about how the Republican presidential candidates were all “pledging allegiance” in Thursday night’s GOP debate to the destructive Tea Party (even though they just helped push the Republicans into causing the first credit downgrade in US history.) Axelrod also noted that during the GOP debate the [...]

In today’s press conference President Obama made the point that if the Republicans refuse to end the tax cuts for millionaires and other tax breaks for corporations and the rich then they are clearly not serious about balancing the budget. The President also took the GOP majority in the House to task for failing to [...]

The Republicans in the Senate care so little about the average American and so much for the wealthy that they were willing to filibuster a bill which would have permanently extended tax cuts for all Americans on their first $250,000 of income because the bill did not include additional tax cuts for the wealthy. Of course the Tea Party faithful aren’t going to jump off the crazy O’Donnell train no matter what, but imagine what their reaction would be like if we found video of President Obama admitting to [...]

Media Matters makes the point that the mainstream media has been skewing the debate on health care reform by insinuating that the “public option” that President Obama supports is not popular with Americans and that the “public option” is the “liberal position” (it’s not, it is a compromise, the true liberal position is “single payer.”) [...]

The new CBS/NY Times poll has Barack Obama ahead of John McCain nationally by a big margin: 53% to 39%. While this is likely to be somewhat of an outlier as it’s the largest lead Obama has in any national poll it should be noted that Obama also has a double digit lead in six [...]
