Ten Facts About John McCain
By admin on Apr 7, 2008 in John McCain
1. John McCain voted against establishing a national holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Now he says his position has “evolved,” yet he’s continued to oppose key civil rights laws.
2. According to Bloomberg News, McCain is more hawkish than Bush on Iraq, Russia and China. Conservative columnist Pat Buchanan says McCain “will make Cheney look like Gandhi.”
3. His reputation is built on his opposition to torture, but McCain voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban.
4. McCain opposes a woman’s right to choose. He said, “I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned.”
5. The Children’s Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children’s health care bill last year, then defended Bush’s veto of the bill.
6. He’s one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a “second job” and skip their vacations.
7. Many of McCain’s fellow Republican senators say he’s too reckless to be commander in chief. One Republican senator said: “The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He’s erratic. He’s hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me.”
8. McCain talks a lot about taking on special interests, but his campaign manager and top advisers are actually lobbyists. The government watchdog group Public Citizen says McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates.
9. McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his “spiritual guide,” Rod Parsley, believes America’s founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a “false religion.” McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God’s punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church “the Antichrist” and a “false cult.”
10. He positions himself as pro-environment, but he scored a 0—yes, zero—from the League of Conservation Voters last year.

Thats is so true. McCain is trash. He picked a lousy vice president, too. No, not because she’s a woman. Because she is ignorant.

John McCain frightens me because his judgment is obviously way off the mark if he thinks women will vote for Sarah Palin just because she’s female - a Republican “substitute” (!!) for Hillary Clinton? I think not! Women are not that easily dazzled - hopefully - by foolishness in serious times. He brings more of the same failures we’ve endured for eight torturous years - a future none of us can afford unless we’re John Mc Cain!

natalie: see the country fall once again? the country is already fallen. or are you one of the 9% that think the country is on the right track? are you one of those deluded 23% that think george w. bush is doing a good job?

You need only look at the source of these so called “facts”, MoveOn.org. This is an organization that causes our Founding Fathers to turn over in their graves. They are so far left that they have turned the corner to socialism.

Sheila Beckwith: its sad but true… people are “easily dazzled” as you say. many people that are voting for Barack are voting for him only because he is black. some of the people i have talked to even say that they will vote for him just because he shares the same birthday. its sad but true most of the people that are voting are uneducated about the issues at hand. its to bad that most of teh supporters for obama really dont see what an aweful president he will be. what kind of president refuses to wear teh colors of his country? haha
niki | Oct 17, 2008 | Reply
Sherie - You have no understanding of history. And you have no understanding of what the word “socialism” means. Why don’t you ask the Bush admin. about socialism regarding the bailout?
niki - What are you talking about? Refuses to wear the colors of his country? Obama wears a flagpin. In fact in each debate he wore one and McCain did not. So WTF are you talking about?
Please do not troll this site with ignorant BS. Thanks.

obama wants to cut gun sales to one per month…how is that usefull?(if you think this is reasonable please explian.)he wants to pull the troops out of iraq. how will that help the U.S? we will be pulled out of a job not yet finished.(again explian if you find this reasonable.)
niki | Oct 23, 2008 | Reply
Niki asks **he wants to pull troops out of Irag. How will that help?**
Simple, we save $10 billion dollars a month, let alone all the lives and maiming of our troops. Not to mention the Iraqis, where we should not have been in the first place. We never finished the job in Afghanistan were we had a right to our self defense.
Some1 Gay says “mccain is awesome and barak obama is not from this country.:
Just wonder are you from this planet? You would support as awesome someone who in a speech about nuclear power says “…..they talk about nuclear power and say it has to be clean and blah blah blah.”
This is awesome and eloquent? Comeon some1, get some sense about you if not a life.

I had to delete some of the more ignorant/hateful comments. I encourage people of all viewpoints to post comments here but ignorant/hateful comments are not allowed here.
If you say that Barack Obama wasn’t born in America - you are ignorant. Stop spreading your ignorance to other people. It’s sad & pathetic.

OK, some1gay. But I don’t think you are making a very persuasive argument. Actually considering your poor grammar and spelling you may be making an argument against your choice.

There are good AND bad points about both candidates. It all comes down to what issues are important to each individual. For the people who listen to gossip to persuade their vote and/or too lazy or ignorant to do research on the candidates before making a choice are truly, in my opinion, extremely dangerous for our country.
Donna | Nov 3, 2008 | Reply
This website needs to change the name. “The presidential candidates” makes it sound like it will give correct information on the candidates, but I guess that’s just too much craziness to ask.

well, john mccain is a great man. he has fought for our country. his entire life has been for the better benefit of the united states. you people need to realize that obama wiining the presidential race will cause mass hesteria and rioting. not to mention massed racial diversity. because i know alot of fight have broken out during the past few weeks. mainly because he is the new “president” but ill quote hypofsis “one man can become what he has potential for, but at the same time he can become what his potential prevents”-hypofsis. so when our country goes from a 14.5 trillion dollar recession and goes into a depression rivaling that of the united states “great depression” of 1919-1939. stop and think what you have done. what you have accomplished. you have succeed in systematically destroying the united states by its own means. in the words of aldof hitler “the dreams of our people will be reconized and fullfill, we have fought hard…. some may say we have lost this war…but i beleive the opposite. indeed we have succeeded in our endevor to make white sumpremacy because my only goal was to protect white rights. to make such a change in the worlds veiws against race. you see indeed i have won. if i changed one persons mind i have succeeded. i thank all those whom supported my cause. you all have fought well and i thank you. your all released from duty.” that was his ending speech 1945 wallendar germany before he took his life.
