The Republicans Keep Lying About Health Care

Senator Orin Hatch (R-Utah) was on CBS this morning repeating all of the Republicans tired lies about health care. He actually claimed that the US has the best health care system in the world! It’s amazing that they keep telling that lie. America is actually ranked #37 in the world according to the WHO. We spend more money per person on health care than any other country and yet we have lesser health care results. Every single country ahead of us has some form of “universal health care.”

No matter what lies the Republicans (and “moderate” Democrats) tell, “national health care” is not some risky new idea. It works. It has worked in countries all around the world and it works right here in the US in the form of Medicare, Medicaid, & the VA.

Hatch also repeated the lie that health care reform is too expensive and will cost jobs. Nonsense! What’s too expensive is continuing with our current system. As previously mentioned, we spend more money per person than any other country in the world. Obviously something is seriously wrong. The Republican “solution” is to do nothing. To keep letting the health insurance industry reap huge profits while the health of the nation suffers. The economy also suffers because businesses are spending way too much money on health care for their employees.
